Officer Richard Owens was interviewed and stated that Sergeant Gillis meets with most of his employees at various Starbucks to critique their performance or go over specific items. Officer Teti later prov ided the serial number for the Glock 42 as being AAWZ298. Officer Teti stated that Sergeant Gillis did not specify to him what type of w ork he had done for the friend.
Officer Teti stated that Sergeant Gillis told him that he got the Glock from a friend for doing some work.
Officer Teti advised that he did in fact purchas e the Glock 42 from Sergeant Gillis as a birthday present for his girlfriend. Lieutenant Wilson stated that Sergeant Gillis then stated that he bought the Glock and did not like it, which was different from what Sergeant Gillis had previously told him.Įmail, that he wanted to purchase the Glock 42. Lieutenant Wilson stated that later that same day, Sergeant Gillis commented to him that he purchased the rifle years ago from someone (Lieutenant Wilson could not recall who Sergeant Gillis specifically named, but thought it was from Accuracy Gun Shop). Lieutenant Wilson stated that Sergeant Gillis mentioned this investigation and that he did not know where it was coming from. Lieutenant Wilson stated that approximately one week prior to his interview (sometime during the week of March 2, 2015), that he and Captain Cassell sat down with Sergeant Gillis to discuss some unrelated items with him.
Lieutenant Wilson stated that Sergeant Gillis did not specify w hat kind of work he had done to receive the gun. Lieutenant Wilson stated that Sergeant Gills told him that someone gave him the Glock for some work he (Sergeant Gillis) had done. Lieutenant Dave Wilson was interviewed and stated that when Sergeant Gillis posted the email about the Glock 42, he asked Sergeant Gilli s about it as he w as interested in maybe buying it.
